Quick Samples:

How Email Tracking Compromises Your Privacy

Marketing newsletters and sales surveillance tools embed invisible payloads inside everyday emails.

1. Invisible Spy Pixels

Hidden 1×1 pixel GIFs load silently from telemetry servers the exact microsecond an email is viewed, broadcasting your location and device signature.

2. Tracking Link Redirects

Every hyperlink is routed through third-party click logs (SendGrid, Mailchimp) before redirecting to the final site, logging your reading behavior and identity.

3. Zero-Footprint Sanitization

AliasMail strips spy URLs and replaces beacons with clean dummy vectors, ensuring your read receipts never leak to commercial trackers.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an email tracking pixel (spy pixel)?

An email tracking pixel is an invisible 1x1 transparent image embedded in an email. When your email client opens the message, it requests the image from the sender's server, leaking your IP address, geographic city, timestamp, device model, and mail client.

How does the tracker stripper neutralize tracking pixels?

The tool inspects the DOM tree for image tags with 0px or 1px dimensions, display:none/visibility:hidden attributes, or sources matching known tracking domains (e.g., list-manage.com, hubspot.com, sendgrid.net). It replaces their src with a harmless inline transparent SVG and strips intrusive tracking attributes.

Does stripping email trackers break the layout of my email?

No. The parser only removes invisible tracking pixels and unrolls redirect query parameters. Legitimate content images, banners, typography, and layout tables remain completely intact.

Are my emails sent to a third-party server during analysis?

No. Analysis is performed either through your self-hosted AliasMail instance or directly inside your web browser via our isomorphic client parser. No email content is logged or permanently stored.
