1. Information We Collect
Short answer: We collect nothing.
AliasMail does not collect, store, or process any personally identifiable information (PII). Specifically:
When you generate a temporary email address, we create a volatile inbox that exists only in server memory. No database entry is created. No record of your visit is stored.
- We do not record IP addresses
- We do not store browser fingerprints
- We do not require registration or account creation
- We do not collect email addresses for marketing purposes
- We do not log request metadata or access patterns
2. Email Storage and Lifecycle
Emails received at your temporary address are held in volatile memory only (RAM). They are not written to disk or any persistent storage.
Every email is automatically and permanently destroyed after 10 minutes from the time of receipt. This deletion is:
When a temporary email address expires, the address itself becomes invalid and cannot receive further messages. There is no record that the address ever existed.
- Automatic - no manual trigger required
- Irreversible - there is no backup, no recycle bin, and no recovery mechanism
- Complete - all content including headers, body, attachments, and metadata is purged
4. Third-Party Services
AliasMail uses the following third-party services:
No information about your temporary email addresses, inbox contents, or email activity is shared with any third party. These analytics tools only observe general page visits.
- Google Analytics - aggregate website traffic analysis. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
5. Data Retention
Our data retention policy is simple: we retain nothing.
This zero-retention architecture means we technically cannot comply with data subpoenas for user information because the information does not exist within our systems.
- Temporary emails: deleted after 10 minutes (volatile memory only)
- IP addresses: never collected
- Access logs: not generated
- User accounts: do not exist
- Analytics data: aggregated only, not linked to individuals
6. Security Measures
While we collect minimal data, we still take security seriously:
- All connections are encrypted via TLS and HTTPS
- Email content is rendered in sandboxed iframes with restricted permissions
- HTML emails are sanitized to prevent XSS attacks
- Our infrastructure follows industry-standard security practices
- We conduct regular security reviews of our codebase
7. Children's Privacy
AliasMail is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Since we collect no personal information from anyone, the service is inherently safe for all ages, but we do not specifically target or market to children.
8. Your Rights
Since we collect no personal data, many traditional data rights (access, portability, erasure) are moot. There is no data to access, export, or delete.
However, you always have the right to:
- Stop using AliasMail at any time with no account deletion needed
- Request information about our data practices by contacting us
- File a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe your rights have been violated
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated last updated date. Given our zero-collection philosophy, changes are likely to be minor clarifications rather than expansions of data collection.
We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of AliasMail after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
